When you add a variation, you already have the list of fields in the layout available to you without you having to enter them again. When you create a Structured layout, you create a layout with a single variation. You can then add a variation to it by following the steps outlined below. Any variations you add will have the language setting that was selected from the **Language** drop-down list during the creation of the Structured layout (e.g., English). You can only add variations to Structured layouts. While Semi-structured and Additional layouts consist of a single variation, you cannot add variations to those layouts. ## Create a new variation Before you begin, create a Structured layout by following the steps in [Creating Structured Layouts](/v41/docs/creating-structured-layouts). 1. Go to **Library** > **Layouts**, find the Structured layout you would like to add a variation to, and click on its name. 2. Below the last variation in the list, click **+New Layout Variation**. 3. Upload a PDF, TIFF, JPG, or PNG file in one of the following ways: - Drag and drop the image file into the box provided. - Click **Choose File** to find the file on your machine and upload it. - If you upload a multi-page TIFF or PDF file, a single layout variation will be created from the file. - If your form consists of multiple files, upload additional files by clicking on **Add More Files**. - When uploading multiple JPG or PNG files, the order of the layout variation’s pages will match the order of the files shown during the upload process. - The system will create separate layouts for each TIFF or PDF file that you upload. - Click **Next**. - Enter a name for your layout variation in the **Layout Variation Name** field. - If you want to use the bounding boxes and field settings from another variation, click on the **Start From Variation** drop-down list, and click on the name of the source variation you would like to use. If you want to create new bounding boxes, click **None** in this drop-down list. - Click **Create**. To learn how to edit your variation, see [Editing a Structured Layout Variation](/v41/docs/editing-a-structured-layout-variation).
